Hi Group, My grandfather passed away yesterday afternoon. Please pray for peace, understanding, and acceptance - especially for those who were blessed to be very close to him. I was also told that my cousin's uncle (her dad's brother) had a heart attack at work. If the guy he was working with had not heard him bang a hammer on the floor he would have died. Bob was only able to bang the hammer occasionally, but fortunately it was enough to get his co-worker's attention. He is in the ICU. Please pray for healing for Bob, guidance for the doctors, and strength for his wife and the family. May 28, 2008 Update from Lauren Bassard: May 27, 2008 Prayers for Lauren Bassard's friend, Dean whose daughter was bit in the cheek by an unleashed dog on Saturday. Dean is in real estate and has very limited health insurance and he is calling all of his friends to try and borrow money. He has already maxed out his credit cards but will still not have enough money to have his daughters face reconstructed. Please pray for his daughter and that he will raise the money needed. I went into Highland hosp this a.m., had exam and xrays. No arthritis, just soreness, "elevate and ice when sore" , they said. Also, I have very young bones! While the ALS was advancing very fast, we had all assumed she still might have a few more months. I was planning on going back to MN next month to spend time with her. She was a Christian and so I know God was with her on her journey home. I Pray now for her husband and 2 young adult children. Maren Giannini Prayers of healing and comfort for Ann Benson as she wiill be having a broncoscopy tomorrow (Weds.) morning at 9:30 to biopsy the nodule they found on her lung. She will also have a PT scan next Wednesday. Please pray for her to be at peace as she waits results. May 20, 2008 My wife Traci's dad is not doing well. He has been admitted to the hospital with pneumonia and a bladder infection. He has been non responsive as well. Traci will be flying out of Spokane in the morning at 7 am on Tuesday. I will drive her today (Monday) to Spokane where she will stay with our friend Becca's parents overnight.
Please keep Tom in your prayers. I got a call this morning from my mom. My grandfather (my dad's dad), Jim Lyon Sr., is in the final stages of cancer and may not last the day. His larynx has been removed and is basically on a diet of water for his final hours. Please pray for my family, my dad and his brothers, and their two half-sisters and their families as grandpa's life here on earth comes to an end.
Sally Wentworth was hospitalized last night with pneumonia and blood clots in her lungs. She is very weak from the chemo and radiation. Please continue to pray for her and wisdom for the doctors. Thank you. Please pray for Dian Smith, her mother and her nephew, Sean. They may have all been exposed to TB and are on quarintine until results come back tomorrow. Pray for healing and the results to come back negative. Dian's mom is resting comfortably in a quarintined room at Kaiser, Fremont. Matthew Geach seems to be doing quite well. He is no longer doing the diet, there were so many restrictions it was not working for him. They now have removed him from another medication and he is only on one now. Pray that he continues to do well and that this will prevent him from anymore seizures. May 15, 2008 Prayers of healing for Dian Smith's mother, Barbara Marshall. Dian has been instructed to bring her into emergency immediately. They are having difficulty regulating her coumadin. Our prayer is that this Friday evening's performance of "AmeriKids" by the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will go smoothly and be a wonderful blessing to all who attend - especially the Veterans. May 14, 2008 My Aunt Norma broke her hip a week ago and they are hopefully performing surgery today (not sure if she was a good candidate for surgery or not). Prayers that she can be touched by people of faith while she is going through this difficult recovery. Prayers for my mom, Betty who is on her way to Santa Barbara to help my aunt for the next couple of weeks. In the past 5 weeks my mom has lost her brother, my dad's brother and now my aunt's broken hip. She is experiencing a lot of grief. I pray that she will draw close to God during this difficult time. Anne Benson has requested Prayer as her cat scan showed a nodule in her stomach. She is going to have another cat scan today on her lungs and will have the results Wednesday when she will find out if a biopsy on the nodule is necessary. Pray for a calmness as she is very nervous about the procedure. Prayers of healing and comfort for Ann Benson's grandson, Steven who was just admitted to the hospital with pancreatitis. May 13, 2008 Pray for a successful surgery with no complications for Darlene and Howard's son-in-law Craig who is having emergency gallbladder surgery right now. May 12, 2008 A friend of Heather’s, Dona Allen has been admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery this morning for a hernia and obstructed bowel. Please prayer for a successful surgery and recovery. Thank you. Gloria Day Would you please Pray for Dave Bassard, Music director at Church of The Valley and good friend of Melody & Jose' Saldate. He has been fighting Cancer for several years and was taken to emergency last night in severe pain. The Drs. are not sure what it is yet and are testing his Gallbladder. Prayers for a simple & quick diagnosis. Dave is currently having another round of Chemo and definitely does not need anymore "down time". A Very dear (young) friend of Vivian Hunter, Sue Bender, recently went in for a hip replacement. During testing they found out that she has inoperable lung cancer. Prayers of comfort for her and her family as they try to accept this news and wisdom for the doctors to treat her. May 8, 2008 Please pray for the middle school girl I met yesterday. She is being sexually abused by mom's boyfriend. Her home life is fearful and threatening, including adult drug use, partying, and isolation. Pray for her safety and well being. Please pray especially that the adult who now has this knowledge will be guided to take quick action to save and protect her. He knows this moral and just decision has been put into his hands to make. Pray for grace, mercy, peace and strength, to all involved, that we know can only come through our Lord Jesus. Thank you, Linda Dutton Matthew Geach came home from the hospital today. He's not eating as much as they'd like of the diet yet and is still on one med. but at a lower dose.
